Stretch Out Your Hand

Another time Jesus went into the synagogue, and a man with a shriveled hand was there. 2 Some of them were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath. 3 Jesus said to the man with the shriveled hand, “Stand up in front of everyone.”
4 Then Jesus asked them, “Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they remained silent.
5 He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored. 6 Then the Pharisees went out and began to plot with the Herodians how they might kill Jesus.

Jesus asked the man to do the very thing he couldn't do: stretch out his shriveled hand. He didn't ask him to heal himself, earn the miracle, or prove his worthiness. He simply invited trust and obedience. The miracle happened because Jesus spoke life into impossibility.

What are you struggling to trust God with today? Perhaps it's unforgiveness, a broken relationship, a persistent sin, or a painful circumstance. God isn't asking you to fix yourself—He's asking you to stretch out your hand in faith.

​Stop swimming on your own strength. The rescue boat has arrived. Come aboard. Healing happens in the very places we're struggling to trust Him. Salvation is a gift, not a reward for good swimming.

Extiende tu mano

En otra ocasión entró en la sinagoga, y había allí un hombre que tenía la mano paralizada. 2 Algunos que buscaban un motivo para acusar a Jesús no le quitaban la vista de encima para ver si sanaba al enfermo en sábado. 3 Entonces Jesús le dijo al hombre de la mano paralizada:
—Ponte de pie frente a todos.
4 Luego dijo a los otros:
—¿Qué está permitido en sábado: hacer el bien o hacer el mal, salvar una vida o matar?
Pero ellos permanecieron callados. 5 Jesús se les quedó mirando, enojado y entristecido por la dureza de su corazón, y le dijo al hombre:
—Extiende la mano.
La extendió, y la mano le quedó restablecida. 6 Tan pronto como salieron los fariseos, comenzaron a tramar con los herodianos cómo matar a Jesús.

Jesús le pidió al hombre que hiciera justamente lo que no podía hacer: extender su mano seca. No le pidió que se sanara a sí mismo, que se ganara el milagro ni que demostrara que era digno. Simplemente lo invitó a confiar y a obedecer. El milagro ocurrió porque Jesús pronunció vida sobre la imposibilidad.

¿En qué te está costando confiar en Dios hoy? Tal vez sea la falta de perdón, una relación rota, un pecado persistente o una circunstancia dolorosa. Dios no te está pidiendo que te arregles a ti mismo; te está pidiendo que extiendas tu mano con fe.

Deja de nadar con tus propias fuerzas. El bote de rescate ha llegado. Sube a bordo. La sanidad ocurre precisamente en los lugares donde más nos cuesta confiar en Él. La salvación es un regalo, no una recompensa por nadar bien.
