 Day 4: Hope in the Midst of Trials Reading: James 1:2-12 'Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do. Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower. For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business. Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. ' Devotional: James encourages us to find joy in the face of trials, knowing that the testing of our faith produces perseverance. In a world full of challenges, hope can sometimes feel elusive. Yet, as believers, we're called to a hope that transcends circumstances. Reflect on a difficult situation you're currently facing. How can you approach it with the joy and hope James describes? Día 4: Esperanza en Medio de las Pruebas Lectura: Santiago 1:2-12 'Hermanos míos, considérense muy dichosos cuando tengan que enfrentarse con diversas pruebas, pues ya saben que la prueba de su fe produce perseverancia. Y la perseverancia debe llevar a feliz término la obra, para que sean perfectos e íntegros sin que les falte nada. Si a alguno de ustedes le falta sabiduría, pídasela a Dios y él se la dará, pues Dios da a todos generosamente sin menospreciar a nadie. Pero que pida con fe, sin dudar, porque quien duda es como las olas del mar, agitadas y llevadas de un lado a otro por el viento. Quien es así no piense que va a recibir cosa alguna del Señor; es indeciso e inconstante en todo lo que hace. El hermano de condición humilde debe sentirse orgulloso de su alta dignidad; y el rico, de su humilde condición. Porque el rico pasará como la flor del campo. El sol, cuando sale, seca la planta con su calor abrasador. A esta se le cae la flor y pierde su belleza. Así se marchitará también el rico en todas sus empresas. Dichoso el que resiste la tentación porque, al salir aprobado, recibirá la corona de la vida que el Señor ha prometido a quienes lo aman. ' Devocional: Santiago nos anima a encontrar gozo al enfrentar pruebas, sabiendo que la prueba de nuestra fe produce perseverancia. En un mundo lleno de desafíos, a veces la esperanza puede sentirse esquiva. Sin embargo, como creyentes, estamos llamados a una esperanza que va más allá de las circunstancias.
