Following a lifetime journey of transformation
I must confess, I didn’t’ want to be a Pastor, in fact, I am overwhelmed by fear every week as Sunday gets closer and I get to stand in front of the church to tell them about Jesus.
But one thing is certain, the gospel works! It really works.
I don’t write because I like to, I write because I need to, I feel a sense of urgency telling me to scream to the world that Jesus is real, that He saves, delivers, and brings joy to those willing to believe and surrender to His plans.
Being around the church for years, nothing excites me more than seeing churches of different streams coming together to pray and seek God’s intervention in our world.
I had the privilege to pray with some Pastors in our town for the National Day of Prayer. Seeing their love for Jesus is encouraging.
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.” -John 17:20-21
Wow! Jesus prayed for us, not for stuff to be given to us, not for buildings to be built, not for anything we often pray for, but for one thing…that we would be one.
I am tired of criticizing my peers (yes! I have done that, and you too!), of finding the problem with this and that in the other church but never seeing my shortcomings.
I choose today to lift up those of my fellow Pastors to be bold to speak life every week, to live in integrity, and to preach Christ. And I also pray that if any would suddenly loose focus and started preaching other gospel that they will not prosper.
The church IS the HOPE of this world, and it is rising, Jesus is still the King of Kings, and my prayer is that His kingdom may come and His will be done here and now.
As we approach Sunday, I pray that every church may glorify Christ, extend God’s kingdom, and experience a mighty touch from God so that the church may be what God wants it to be.
Would you join me lifting up the Church of Christ around the world?
