Following a lifetime journey of transformation
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2)
I love colors, almost every color. Of course I have my favorites, but one thing I like about colors is that when combined properly they make things stand out (my wife will say I am really bad at combining colors when getting dressed, and that is absolutely true, but this post is not about that, hehehe).
Some colors blend in and disappear, while others blend in to stand out.
Something is happening with the message of “love” in our days. I think some have confused loving with conforming, while others decide to love from a distance—if that is even possible. Yet too many also become judgmental and condemning. But I believe that if we have Jesus in our lives, we are called to blend in to make things stand out. We should make a difference everywhere we go.
We are called to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, to be holy as God is holy. But how does that look when we live in a world that is painting so many different colors when it comes to lifestyles, beliefs, customs, religion, sex, etc…?
We are called to blend in to transform, rather than blend in to conform. You can love those who disagree with you but that doesn't mean you shouldn't speak truth in love to their lives. They need the truth, and you and I are called to speak with confidence about it. Some will not get it, but many are ready for it.
If you have experienced anything good in your life from God, you know He can also work in those around you. Don’t blend in to conform, make a decision to blend in to transform. If Christ lives in you, you have all it takes to accomplish the mission for which He created you.
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. (1 Cor. 1:18)
