Trials come in different sizes, shapes, colors, weight… you get the point. Every human soul will face trials in this life continuously. It is easy to sometimes believe that certain people are not exposed to trials or challenging situations. But the truth is that everyone is in a journey, and every journey has obstacles.
The Christian life journey is no different. Sometimes the trial is physical, but other times it is mental or spiritual. How can we overcome? That is the question.
Yesterday for example, I almost lost it. Actually, if I am honest, I lost it. In my heart and in my soul I know I let pressure and stress take over my emotions. You probably know the feeling afterwards. Doubt, defeat, sadness, a mixture of feelings that try to tell you that you are not good enough.
It is in those moment, that I have to push through my emotions, fall on my knees and call upon God’s name. He has never failed me, and He never will. That’s what faith is, believing that God can make you stronger, lift you up, forgive you, restore you the moment you choose to believe.
In the words of Oswald Chambers:
“Faith must be tested, because it can be turned into a personal possession only through conflict.”*
What is your faith up against just now? May be you need to look at it as an opportunity for your faith to be strengthened. Don't give into doubt, fear, or defeat. God will do the impossible if you choose to believe.
Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”**
I choose to believe, after all the journey is not over yet.

Last night I was trying to navigate through the smart tv we have at home. Yes, tv’s now are “smart”. They are so smart that very often they will tell us what to watch and we obey it!
On the main page there was a suggested video that led me to watch about three more videos while attempting to watch something else. These videos were all about magic tricks which by the way, I really enjoy. On point "a" of the trick you try to follow along. Then suddenly when the trick ends and you are at point "b" you are like "what? How did that happened? No way!"
But that’s not the reason why I am writing this blog post.
The real reason why I am sharing this is because today when I opened my computer and was trying to find a specific church video, I had like 20 more suggestions of videos to watch. Guess what these videos are about? Yup, more magic tricks.
I’ve often said that the life of faith is not so much about avoiding the bad things but it is more about doing the right things. It is almost like a good eating plan. You don’t just stop eating. You avoid the unhealthy and begin to consume the healthy food. And when it comes to life, we are to stay away from bad habits and behaviors but if we don’t replace those with the good things we will drift back and give in to the old ways.
But the more you do what is right, the more opportunities will be presented to you each day to continue on that path. And may be just like the suggested videos, your eyes will be opened to see the endless opportunities before you to glorify God with your life wherever you are and in everything you do.
The 20 suggested videos I got today began with watching just one small clip. May be that next big step you keep wanting to take will only come after you take a small step of faith today. And chances are you know what that step is.
What is one thing God is calling you to do today? Can I suggest you something? Do it! May be your greatest opportunities will come after you do that one thing.
And just like a magic trick, your life will be transformed into something unbelievable.
I have been a Christian for a long time. That is if being a Christian means going to church and trying to behave as much as possible. The truth is, the Church is limited when it comes to changing lives. It obviously plants seeds and provides a place where God can speak. It is the Holy Spirit that brings conviction to our hearts, and allows us to see the reality of the condition of our heart. But unless we surrender and give God full control of our lives, we will not live the life God has planned for us.
I believe that the life God wants us to live is a lifetime journey of transformation. Each day we should be more and more like him. It is his grace that gives us power to be who he called us to be, but we also have to bend our will to His will for his grace to be effective.
I believe with all my heart that growing in faith together with other believers is so important. Being a Christian is more than going to Church, it is a commitment to BE the Church and grow together.
This year, I am starting a new project to grow in faith, and I want to invite as many as I can to join me.
If you are up for the journey, let me tell you how this works.
Each month I will pick a book, an online study that goes along with it, and a YouVersion Bible plan to read.
If you would like to join me, here is what you need to do:
This will be a very easy plan to follow, but it will keep us connected and with a common goal. I encourage you to join me and see what God can do when we seek Him together.
