Trials come in different sizes, shapes, colors, weight… you get the point. Every human soul will face trials in this life continuously. It is easy to sometimes believe that certain people are not exposed to trials or challenging situations. But the truth is that everyone is in a journey, and every journey has obstacles.
The Christian life journey is no different. Sometimes the trial is physical, but other times it is mental or spiritual. How can we overcome? That is the question.
Yesterday for example, I almost lost it. Actually, if I am honest, I lost it. In my heart and in my soul I know I let pressure and stress take over my emotions. You probably know the feeling afterwards. Doubt, defeat, sadness, a mixture of feelings that try to tell you that you are not good enough.
It is in those moment, that I have to push through my emotions, fall on my knees and call upon God’s name. He has never failed me, and He never will. That’s what faith is, believing that God can make you stronger, lift you up, forgive you, restore you the moment you choose to believe.
In the words of Oswald Chambers:
“Faith must be tested, because it can be turned into a personal possession only through conflict.”*
What is your faith up against just now? May be you need to look at it as an opportunity for your faith to be strengthened. Don't give into doubt, fear, or defeat. God will do the impossible if you choose to believe.
Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”**
I choose to believe, after all the journey is not over yet.

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been meditating and praying a lot about the future of The Gathering. I believe our best days are ahead of us, and as I look at what God has done I feel overwhelmed and filled with a huge sense of urgency and responsibility to be ready for what is coming.
Prayer is vital and fundamental for the health and growth of the believer’s faith. And corporate prayer is just as important. One very important factor to take into consideration is the context in which the believer and the Church operate. We are a busy community, but we can’t afford not to pray.
Beginning this Sunday, our worship center will be open for prayer at 9:30am every Sunday. And then at 9:50 we will join to pray together for God to continue to move in our midst with all of our team and team leaders.
At this time kids checking will not be open yet. If your children come with you, they will be ok to sit in the auditorium as we pray.
Please make an effort to join us and keep an atmosphere of prayer and reverence. Jesus said his house would be a House of prayer, let’s be that church.
I hope to see you tomorrow!
This week thousands of students are returning to school. Education is important, and as believers, our understanding of scripture is important too. Our faith will grow as we grow in the knowledge of God's word.
This week, we are also resuming our Midweek Study. At the beginning of the year, we covered some great topics that I know have helped me and those attending regularly to understand what "living the christian life" means.
We are called to make disciples and our midweek study is designed to help you grow not only in a personal level, but also to find the encouragement you need within the body of Christ to be who God called you to be.
I know we all have made a great effort to have everything our kids need to go back to school. We are probably a little bit tired and feeling exhausted this first week. But we push through because we know our kids' education is important.
What if we would also prioritize our need to know more about God? The truth is, we all need that spiritual strength, and I believe this time together praying, learning, and being in fellowship with one another is crucial for every one who claims to be a Jesus Follower.
Don't miss this opportunity, make an effort and join us tonight at 7.
