I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,

the flames will not set you ablaze."
What a wonderful promise, what a great God we serve. He is just and righteous, and when we completely surrender or lives to Him, all of His promises will be fulfilled. And the greatest of all things is that we don't have to work on our own strength to receive His favor, He has given us His Spirit which empowers us to live holy lives.
The first half of the book of Isaiah is a confrontational one, not easy to accept and even easy to reject. It speaks of our sinful nature and the condemnation that this can bring upon us.
